Focus gets easier when the start is specific. Choose the app or tab that can wait, write down one study task, and make the first action obvious. You are not trying to become a different person; you are reducing the decisions competing with the first ten minutes.
Make the boundary visible
A short focus session with a clear unlock condition is easier to trust than an endless promise to “stay productive.” Progress should open the door again. This is why an intentional app pause can work better than relying on willpower alone.
Start smaller than your ambition
Ten minutes of real work gives you more information than an hour of negotiating with yourself. When the task is too large, shrink the output: one page, three cards, or one worked example. Let the session grow only after the first task is complete.
Close the loop
Write down what changed during the session and choose the next small action before you leave. A visible finish makes it easier to begin again tomorrow.
